WHAT SPECIMEN TYPES WILL MAWD ACCEPT?
MAWD accepts upper respiratory swabs (NP, OP, nasal, etc.), lower respiratory samples (sputum, BAL, etc.), and saliva for COVID-19 testing.
WHAT TRANSPORT MEDIA AND SWAB TYPES DOES MAWD ACCEPT?
MAWD accepts synthetic swabs (non-cotton swab and non-wood shaft) and saliva in viral transport media, universal transport media, and saline.
HOW CAN I ENSURE MY SPECIMENS ARE NOT REJECTED?
HOW SHOULD I STORE SPECIMENS ONCE COLLECTED?
Please return specimens to the laboratory as soon as possible. In the event of delay, specimens can be stored at ambient or refrigerated temperatures for up to 72 hours.
I HAVE TO DIVIDE TRANSPORT MEDIA DUE TO SHORTAGES. WHAT IS THE MINIMUM VOLUME MAWD NEEDS WITH EACH SPECIMEN?
All samples must have at least 1 mL transport media.
HOW SHOULD I PACKAGE/TRANSPORT SPECIMENS?

DOES MAWD TEST ON WEEKENDS?
